Through the song Earth Sisters, I want to give power to my fellow sisters from every corner of the Earth, who are all fighting for a sustainable future for all coming generations on planet Earth. I want to encourage and honour brave women who are on the front line every day, putting their personal safety aside to help in the fight for a sustainable climate. With the song, I want to create a sense of belonging where neither geographical remoteness nor cultural differences create distances but rather a common platform where the different voices are linked through music.
The common message ”Sister from the north, Sister from the south, Sister from the east, Sisters from the Earth ”.
It felt important to me to invite more artists and especially more co-sisters to appear in the song. The voices you hear are Sami singer Elin Teilius, Colombian artist Mambe and Indonesian artist Rita Tila. It is important that we, with all our differences, are still united on an issue that is bigger than ourselves, a sustainable future on Earth. We are all interconnected and must see our own situation from a global perspective. Sustainability is about everyone’s well-being regardless of geographical location. and we all affect each other’s situation through the life we live.
Female power is crucial to creating a sustainable society, through sisterhood we stand united in a primordial power and together we maintain and defend the natural balance of life on earth. By listening inward to the wisdom and knowledge we carry with us from generation to generation, we can also create positive patterns of change for future generations.
Oh sisters of light, from all corners of the Earth Long before we entered this world In the cradle of our existence, we made an agreement, To appear, in the darkest hour before dawn To pass down the wisdom of the great mother of us By the connection to the Earth, waters and sky To visualise the great forces and the spirits of nature Have you felt the heartbeats in the ground? A deep desire to protect the land A call from Mother Earth to raise your voice A strong request to protect the land Åbbah, Åbbah viäralden rájieste Guh Bahkkatïjja båhtije ájggáje Lügnes Lügnes giälajne skajggá Iädmanisne leä ája heäggije Sister from the north Sister from the south Sister from the east Sister from the earth Sister from the north Sister from the south Sister from the east we have to fight for the great mother inside of us Sister fights for me Sister fights for you Sisters fights for us Sisters fights for me Sisters fights for you Sisters fights for us
