I want to portray the dramatic and silenced Swedish history in my music, it is as if every tone, word and meaning takes on a deeper meaning when my goal has been to illuminate the hidden in the past. The fragility of the way I use my voice and the melodies come from the strong bond between me, my ancestors, the wide landscape, the silent stories and the expanses of the surroundings.

In a liberating way, I want to focus on issues such as racial biology and gender equality where I what to raise awareness and equity. Through straight lyrics and melodies, I want to deliver a clear message where not least the title testifies to the album’s content and theme.
I deeply believe that we can heal historical trauma if we have an opportunity to process the abuses. For the reconciliation process to work, everyone must be involved, this is not an issue only for the Sami people. It contains several parts, the abuse must be acknowledged by the perpetrator which in this case is the Swedish state. The Samis must be given space to process the trauma. Therefore we need safe spaces to tell our stories from our perspective.

This album is for my ancestors, to recreate an ancient force that is related to my deep power to be as great as I can be as an artist. This album is for my close family and my relatives, to express in words and melodies a trauma that previous generations have been subjected to by taking back the power and telling the story it in my way.
But above all this….
This album is for me, A way to regain power and continue to develop in my art. To immerse my art with roots in my culture and through music in an contemporary way play with different expressions to reach a new level of freedom in my creation. To experiment with my voice and to find new soundscapes to develop my style of music. To stretch the boundaries between genres and expressions and try to find my very own path in between for my expression to grow.
